I am creating this blog to chronicle the restoration of my almost dream car, a 1981 Camaro. I say almost because my dream car is a '67 Camaro and this blog is about my newly acquired '81 Camaro. I purchased this car with no motor and no interior. So everything will be custom. I already have the motor and it is a 4 bolt gm 350 vortec motor bored .60 over with vortec heads. The heads have been modified for .525 lift to allow for gm's LT4 hot cam which will be used with 1.6 rockers. The motor is almost complete and I will be posting pics as I complete it. The car itself is virtually rust free aside from some surface rust, and is in great condition with no dents. The interior will be all custom and I am going to do a front clip swap from a '70 Camaro. So follow along as I restore my Camaro named 'Candy'. Here are some pics to show you what I am working with.
The two in the picture are my two boys.
Just another angle of 'Candy'. She doesn't look like much now but give me a little time.
This is the front clip that will be swapped in. My dad and big brother picked it up for me in Missouri. These clips are hard to come by.
This is the long block just after paint.
